February 13, 2009, has come forward yet another proof that the world-class dance music being made here in Latvian. This time, on quality materials made sure visitors to the club one of the leading representatives of the Latvian club culture – ILLEGAL DJ TEAM RIGA leader and a popular European Hit Radio show Party Service Builder [Ex] da Bass, along with a new, promising singers from England’s Ian Brearley, creating possibly the hottest of club hits – the song “Riga Nights”. His more than twelve years long DJ career [Ex] da Bass has performed with such big names as Westbam, Moguai, Dr.Motte, Cosmic Gate, Oliver Klitzing, Cave, Cari Lekebusch and many others who participated in various Baltic and global electronic dance music.
The song was written Latvian dance music patron Ilze Kalve, but production of [Ex] da Bass resorted Latvian producers of the “golden couple” – Lotars box of Boyz II and John Kalve from Basic Instinct. Lotars box at the global level has produced such artists as Ella, Ladybird, Linda Leen and BTH, while John Kalve has remixed such renowned artists as Vanessa Mae and Brainstorm. Also the single from the entries made Latvian the best dance music in the studio – Basic Instinct Studio, which recorded songs have been released in the U.S., Japan, Korea, India, Russia and elsewhere.
Cover design and video clip was created by Sergey Prišvins from Pervert Media Entertainment studio, with broad experience in various format video creation. The single video on YouTube within one month of insertion is viewed over 40,000 times, which is a very good indicator.
Enter izdevējkompānija in Germany and beyond its recognized Midway Records, which issued such artists as Marc Van Linden, Mátyás and Sandra Flyn.
Single can be found in seven versions: Radio Edit, Tomcraft Remix, Robert L-Mayer Remix, Illegal Club Mix, Marc Van Linden Remix, Rulers Of The Deep Remix and DJ Whirl Remix. Robert L-Mayer Remix and Illegal Club Mix remixes right here in Latvian.
On the “louder” remixes are what is known Tomcraft Remix, which was created in collaboration with Lutzenkirchen world famous electro house DJ and producer from Germany Tomcraft and Marc Van Linden Remix, which led in Berlin representing Midway Records artist Marc Van Linden. It should be noted that a world-class music stars Latvian create a musical have resorted present for the first time.
Part of the single from the glory came the brothers Estonian hands. A wonderful version of house music duo Rulers Of The Deep, but the mood of trance – DJ Whirl. Two remixes of the February 18 issue will be channeled into another German record company – Farbenfroh Records.
Following the current trend, first single was released digitally and is available in the world’s largest and most popular online music stores such as Beatport, Juno, Trackitdown, DJShop, Musicload and others, but later it will be available also on CD and Vinyl formats. Already, “Riga Nights” has caused a great stir throughout Europe. The single material is being actively and played with great success on various Baltic and European radio stations, establishing solid positions on charts.
